Background

Jorgen Ferguson is an upper gastrointestinal and general surgeon from Sydney.

He completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney (BMedSci Hons), a postgraduate degree in medicine (M.B.B.S. Hons) at the University of Sydney and a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (F.R.A.C.S.).

Dr Ferguson trained in general surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital and completed post-fellowship training at St Vincent’s and St George Hospitals in Sydney. He currently operates at St Vincent’s Public Hospital Darlinghurst, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Darlinghurst, East Sydney Private Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital in Ryde. He is a conjoint lecturer at the University of Notre Dame at Darlinghurst.

Dr Ferguson provides minimally invasive and open surgery for a range of upper gastrointestinal and general surgical conditions including benign and malignant diseases of the oesophagus and stomach, abdominal wall and groin hernias, gallbladder and biliary tract conditions, weight loss and reflux disease. He also provides complex interventional endoscopic services.
